I wanna make zines and rage against machines!
I am an unabashed punk and stirrer of the proverbial shit. I love, love, love raging against authorities. I’ve marched with Black Bloc with no mask on, I talk shit to cops every chance I get, and I’ve punched Nazis in the face.
It’s a lifestyle I love.
In this issue, we’re gonna go full punk and talk about our cool occult zine publishing line we plan on producing, our Halloween Eve Discord Release Party, the upcoming release of The Last True Mage, and more!
Let’s do this, CM Fam!

Chaote Thots and Prayers...
So, make everything a ritual, all of it. Do it for at least a month. This is a 30-day challenge.
Every time you do hygiene stuff, banishing rituals.
Every time you clean up, go to work, or do chores, fortune rituals.
Every time you nurture a family member, feed them, etc., a happy life ritual.
Every time you get stressed out, do a fuck off banishing ritual. How does one do that? Thusly…
Find an open space where you feel powerful and grounded. Imagine your right hand, or hold it up, and yell in the cardinal direction of the west, “Fuck Off,” while giving the middle finger, or whatever your local variation is.
Do this for each cardinal direction, in this order: (1) West, (2) South, (3) East, (4) North.
After you’ve completed the Northern Refrain of the ritual, you should intone the words, “Brrrrrr, bitch.” Then, turn your back, and dust your worries off your shoulder, because you might have 99 problems, but someone’s bullshit magical baggage ain’t one.

Doing magick, being punk, making zines...
Punk is synonymous with chaos magick. There’s no getting around that they were born from the same place and the same energy.
That same take no shit, follow no rules, sense of operating still exists now in the chaote community, but it’s diluted. Personal dogmas becoming prevalent, the insidious and rather subtle infiltration by the Cult of Kek and QAnon edgelord-types, the dismissal of the many gendered and amazing LGTQIA+ magicians, and I now see a community that is sorely lacking in what once made it truly great:
That punk vibe that won’t tolerate any of that shit.
That’s what we hope to bring back with our occult zine distro. Bringing voices to the chaote community at large that represents all the many diversities that make up our realm of influence.
Everyone can make a zine, and it’s the definition of the free press.
We’ll have our own zine, Presents Forbidden Magix, where we’ll share our opinions on modern chaos magick and more.
We’ll also be hosting some zine making presentations in the future over at our discord, so if you want to learn about that, then stay tuned for an official event date.
Join our cult!
And by our cult, we mean occulture of personality, where we explore and share our experiences on the psychonaut superhighway of chaos magick!
At the Chaos Magick Association, and through, we hope to educate people on the history, culture, and modern practice of chaos magick.
For that, we need people that want to share their experiences, their bits of history, their stories! If you want to speak on a topic that involves the occult, chaos magick in particular, we want to hear from you.
A good friend of mine once told me, “We will be the magicians they write about in one hundred years.” That has stuck with me a while, and I realize it wasn’t that I wanted to be the name they spoke. I wanted US to be the name they spoke. This glut of punked up chaote madness that reflects the beginning of the 21st Century.
So, join us if you want to speak your magical truth to the world. Contributor Form
Website news!
With spooky season comes the countdown to our Halloween Eve Discord Site Launch Party!
The site itself is ready to go. The last bits of formatting are going on our initial run of stories. There’s a ton of good stuff coming your way.
The site is very similar to a Patreon, but we’re in our own environment, free from the confines of an owned platform. Initially, the idea is simply to get enough people doing the paid subscriptions to break even by keeping the platforms going. (The site, Discord, et al.)
Speaking of the subscriptions, we have three tiers:.
Our free tier is our basic membership option and you’re going to get 90% of everything just by signing up on the site. This means all the perks of the community, and we’ll even be sending out discounts occasionally for services and products we sell in our store.
Our monthly tier ($5.99 USD) comes with some perks, such as video versions of our podcast with additional footage, exclusive digital files, and the occasional odd thing we come up with.
Our yearly tier ($59.99 USD) comes with the same monthly tier perks, but we’re also gonna send you some physical extras as a mystery package. You also get a 17% discount from the monthly pricing.
We also plan on offering a Magus Lifetime Tier, but there is more to come on that front.
Our biggest goal getting started is breaking even. If we can exceed that point, we’ll be able to pay our writers with something other than account privileges and swag.
Anything beyond that is really not in our headspace.
Come join us over on Discord, where our community is already growing fast!
Discord has been popping lately thanks to the efforts of Roxi Phoenix and the team!
We have a community here that’s free from the toxicity of so many online groups. We talk about magick, we shitpost, we talk about lives, we talk about culture… it’s a friendly community with a wide range of interests.
But, I mean, there’s a lot of serious magick talk on there. It’s an interesting learning environment for both younger and older chaotes to come together and create something new and free from the horrid aspects of most of the social media platforms.
One of our main goals at is to build a decentralized social media experience via the website and the Discord server. A place where true freedom to speak your mind and your truth becomes something within your grasp.
We think the chaote community is ready for a higher class of community.
Many of us are tired of the constant edgelording, abusive wannabe magicians and the lack of any admin oversight to prevent these types from harassing the members of the community.
Well, the day has come for this change. Why not join‘s Discord server, where:
- There are active admins who aren’t bound by any sort of nonsense such as, “Well, they didn’t violate the Facebook TOS.”
- We are inclusive. The only types we don’t welcome are the abusive edgelords, harassers, and alt-right Kek devotees. Also, fuck Nazis.
- The admins and mod team actively go after anyone who becomes a problem. We don’t write it off as, “Well, that’s just how so and so is.”
- You get to have actual conversations about actual magick without being treated like you’re a complete moron by some holier than thou angry horny fake magician guru.
- And last but not least, you won’t feel like an outsider in your own community
If that sounds like a breath of fresh air, join us in taking chaos magick to new heights.
Join the CHAOSMAGICK.COM Discord Server!
Don’t forget, we’ll have a store launch on the same day. This is both a marketplace for interested occult vendors and a place to get things like the zines, comics, and books we plan on publishing.
More on this next newsletter.
I was recently in a short back and forth with Phil Hine, speaking about doing an interview for our forthcoming podcast, and he sent me a link with a discussion between himself and Patricia MacCormack for the Whitechapel Gallery.
In it, they discuss the current state of chaos magick as a practice. Here’s the link:
Magic: Documents of Contemporary Art
It’s an amazing and topical conversation for me personally, because what they’re describing is what I want to embody - a doorway into wonderment.
We’re not trying to build some cult of personality that slavishly devotes itself to our ego here. We’re not building a church, nor are we organizing a cult.
We’re providing a community that is inclusive, a place where newcomers can engage without being derided for their temporary ignorance. It will be a place not where we guru our opinion, but one where we all become the guru that welcomes in the next wave of chaotes.
It is also a place where we will challenge preconceptions of what chaos magick is capable of, and we will look at the potentialities of what we can become.
Finally, it will be a place where it’s safe to explore and ask questions without being derided for it, and a place where open, good faith debates are welcome and encouraged.
