Let's do coffee...but inside a newsletter.

I’m back in Hong Kong from Toronto and a weekend in Montreal - so lets get down to it!

Canada is having a moment
Outside the Enercare Centre with a few members of the RISE delegation!
Back from an amazing Collision conference, a weekend in Montreal and watching the Raptors win the NBA finals in a sport I’ve never even watched before personally since Michael Jordan was playing but very exciting stuff happening over in Canada - here is a few pieces about Collision.

Personally, I loved it - I wasn’t a fan of New Orleans unfortunately, even though I only went once. Maybe its just the first year excitement, maybe because I’m Canadian, but it was definitely an amazing first year BUT how will the team top it in 2020 is the question. Some of the talks are here including mine on Startup Burnout:

RISE is coming in less than 1 month
Yes, it seems we just finished the last conference and now we are going into the next one - RISE is back July 8-11 in Hong Kong! Will it be the last one here? Who will announce new rounds of funding? What big tech brands are launching in Asia? What big announcements will be made? I guess you’ll just have to wait and see. I am proud of the 25 Community Events we are hosting in between the end of RISE each day and the beginning of Night Summit. Get tickets. Be a Volunteer. Meet some of our featured startups.
The StartupsHK Newsletter
While this newsletter is more about me, the one at is all about the startups in Hong Kong. More dedicated startups news and info that you’ve already been subscribed to now and should have received an issue in your inbox by the time you read this (feel free to unsubscribe if its not your cup of tea).
That one will be more frequent and where I will be probably writing more from, as the audience is much bigger and this newsletter will become more of a quarterly release.
...and finally my 5 Photos from my Camera Roll made this awesome RISE co-host jacket for me to wear in Toronto.
The Infinity Shots and Wolverine Poutine at the best bar in Toronto; Storm Crow Manor.
I ate these Game of Thrones Oreo while watching the series finale in Toronto - not a 10.0 landing but what did you expect after The Avengers nailed theirs so perfectly.
I bought this new Logitech 11" iPad Slim Folio Pro keyboard case and went on the road for 10 days with it and it was a perfect replacement for the Macbook Pro.
My dad has been telling me about the Montreal smoke meat sandwich since I was born, the only thing he rembers about Montreal - but I'm happy to report that the actual product did NOT disappoint and neither did the poutine or bagels. Definitely a foodies delight.
That’s it this time, thanks for reading and hope to see you at RISE!
