Let's do coffee...but inside a newsletter.

Howdy - I just got an incredibly loooooong email newsletter from a friend - yikes 😳 so I’ve decided to scrub mine down to just 3 points every issue…if you get too many newsletters try using Stoop to manage them - I love it.

Toronto and
I’m heading to Toronto 🇨🇦 for Collision next week - I am super excited as from the looks of it, it is 7 TIMES LARGER than last year’s event in New Orleans. 7 TIMES! I’m proud of my home country for stepping up and embracing the event and I know it will return the love 100-fold with a sun-like spotlight on the entire country’s amazing startup scene like it did to Portugal.
If you still are on the fence, let me know, maybe you can join me and a few dozen other Asian startups, investors and connector buddies to see what all the poutine is about.
Sydney Startup Hub
I met a lot of great people and saw a lot of cool stuff in my 1 week in Sydney, but the thing I tell everyone about is the Sydney Startup Hub - a government project to house all things startup in one location:
  • 11 floors in downtown Sydney on top of one of the main subway stops - with a park right in front of it.
  • 7 floors of co-workspace for different levels of startups, 3 corporate accelerators and 1 startup bank (the New South Wales gov!)
  • Event space, free space for meetings, tons of workshops and, did I mention it was in the middle of the city not in BFE (look it up)
Shout out to my super-connectors Brendan Yell and Cheryl Mack (Daddy). Imagine if you knew everyone in the Australian startup scene between 2 people 🤯
Things I'm reading that you should too:
...and my 3 Photos from my Camera Roll
Sailing Sydney Harbour on a Sunday! Now I get Australia!
I love my AirPods but THESE, Sony WH1000XM3 Noise Cancelling Headphones, are the best things I've bought, I don't even play music in them - just peace and quiet.
Avengers Endgame will beat Avatar by the time you read this. Incredible.
That’s it for this issue - more when I get back from Toronto 🇨🇦
Your friend,
Casey 🤓
