Boxing needed what we got with Fury/Wilder 3

What was funny about this weekend’s match was I was actually upset that Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua got derailed so Deontay Wilder could have his shot at redemption. But the closer we got to fight night, the more I got intrigued by the third and final bout.
Their rivalry, the matches before this one, and a win that definitely settles business between Fury and Wilder happened on Saturday night and Hollywood could not have written a better ending. Truth really is better than fiction when it comes to combat sports and like Dana White said when he was asked his opinion of the fight, “boxing needed that.”
We talked about it at length on the podcast this week so if you would like to hear more about it, check out this week’s Coast-2-Coast Combat Hour:

If you’re looking ahead to the coming weekend, Bellator will take center stage on Saturday night. The World Light-heavyweight Grand Prix continues and if the fights in that tournament aren’t intriguing to you, then the lightweight bout on the main card should be, and does not seem to be getting enough attention.
Two former lightweight champions are squaring off on this card and the match up is so good, I really can’t pick a winner. The number three ranked lightweight, Benson Henderson faces off against former lightweight champion, Brent Primus.
I always forget how good of a grappler Primus is so their jiu-jitsu just might cancel each other’s grappling out. It’s a hard one to call, but it should be fun to watch. Check out the full fight card and where to watch here:
