Hi there,
So yesterday was an introduction to our daily digest and a small update. These daily digests will slowly evolve and find their own structured format.
Today space and data has a been on my mind. I’m leaving emotional analytics for tomorrow. An area I am researching heavily at this time. And will likely bring up a number of times over the coming months.
Also I discovered a most fantastic bit-size digest called Finimize yesterday evening. They want to be the future of daily global financial news briefings for the next generation. That you can soak in whilst having your morning tea or coffee or on your way to work. It is well researched and fantastically edited content. Check it out here. And read their latest stories here

Top News Today.
Yahoo released details today of a massive leak. This was noted on Bloomberg to earlier this morning that they were to announce a large loss of data. So as the sale of Yahoo to Verizon is still pending. The hacker who goes by the name of “Peace” has been causing disruption. Without at least 500 account being breached in the attack. More info here and here.
Fascinating Things.
IEEE Spectrum educated me on this little nugget of knowledge today. The quantum dots that are used to create our bright and colourful TV displays could one day improve outcomes for cancer patients and how surgeons treat the disease. Read more here.
Three brothers from Austria according to Bloomberg Technology are planning to taking on Tesla, GM and Nissan. The brothers say the electric cars they are designing can go faster and further than Tesla Motors Inc. This could perhaps be useful for Norway. Seeing as they believe the new Model-S Tesla is not fast enough for them and are therefore taking legal action to sue the automotive company for a refund. Read More here.
Space + Hardware + Satellites + Analytics = Data
Space, satellites and data have always been an interest of mine. So the child in me and my curious mind felt the need to look at the space intelligence market today. There is something about this market that is just purely exciting and full of adventure. They may seem like toys for the lucky few to many people. They are however not. It is an industry that will change many people lives. Where many millions of people will not even notice. Since it will be so gradual a change. Astroid mining will be the most interesting of all I feel.
Yet I am sure mathematician and Physicist Johnny Von Neumann would have approved of these ‘toys’. What with a renowned 1956 Good Housekeeping Magazine noting how his friends gave children’s toys to him on his birthday. The sheer pleasure of solving a puzzle is just great.
So here are some great startups and companies competing in the new space race to collect data to solve global problems. I decided to look at companies that were specifically focused on Geo-Spatial and Satellites.
The image below shows some of the most interesting and promising startups in this niche-market.
