Our new CEO will begin in August 2020. Until then, the BSN will be led by an Executive Leadership Team (ELT) comprising Sue Aspinall, Headteacher JSV, Paul Topping, Headteacher SSV and Stuart de Booij, CFO. The ELT and Headteachers visited all of our campuses in one afternoon to officially welcome staff back and talk about the 2019/2020 BSN strategic priorities. And, for the benefit of new staff, they explained the BSN management/governance structure.
We have 5 campuses comprising 3 juniors schools, 2 senior schools, Central Services,
The Language Centre and
ILA. Each school is led by a Headteacher who, along with the ELT and CFO, form the Board of Management (BoM). Yes, we do like abbreviations. The BoM is chaired by the ELT and answers to the school’s Board of Governors (BoG) that is in turn overseen by the ’
Association’.
It was also illuminating to learn more about the finances. The BSN is somewhat different from many other international schools; it is a non-profit organisation (‘vereniging’ in Dutch) and entirely dependent on fee income and receives no subsidy from either the Dutch or British Governments.
