In Australia, Jason lived in a small country town and worked with indigenous children in foster care, which was rewarding work, but also challenging. In The Netherlands, he was looking to with children again, because that is where his experience and strengths lie, but in a more positive context. He wanted to have good stories to share at the end of the day.
Jason experienced a warm, welcoming and professional environment at BSN from day 1. He enjoys supporting the children in different ways; providing extra support with fine motor skills or reading; or helping the children to socialise and engage with their peers. Being an outdoor person, it is the ideal job for him as he gets to spend the majority of his time outside.
It had always been a dream of Jason’s to come and live in Europe, so when he met his Dutch partner back in Australia, it was as if the stars were aligning. In his own words, he came to The Netherlands “for liefde” (for love). He has fully embraced the Dutch way of life and cycles to work and everywhere else. Perhaps the only part of Dutch living he had a difficult time adjusting to is the winters.
