We are delighted to announce that after a robust selection process, we have appointed a new CEO: Heath Monk. Before being offered the job, Heath participated in an intensive final interview programme lasting 2 days. This involved meetings with students and staff at all levels of the organisation as well as touring the different campuses. This allowed for a firsthand, overall impression of the BSN; our complexities, challenges and opportunities. The process culminated in a presentation to and interview with our Board of Governors.

Peter Bayliff, Chair of the Board of Governors, said:

‘Exciting times are ahead for the British School in the Netherlands, and in Heath we believe we have someone who is steeped in the leadership of educational institutions, has strategic oversight and who will bring his rich experience of running 11 diverse schools, with 10,000 students.’

Heath Monk said:

‘The British School in the Netherlands is a world-class school, and it is a real privilege to have been appointed as its CEO. I was very much impressed by the teaching and learning, by the facilities and by the wide range of co-curricular opportunities when I visited the school, as well as the warm welcome that I was given by everyone I met.’
‘I have always wanted to work in an international context and my family and I are delighted to have the opportunity to work and live in the Netherlands.’

You can read more about Heath’s experience on our website.
We look forward to welcoming Heath to our school in August.
