The British School in The Netherlands
Engaging with the local community—be it Dutch or international—is important for our school. Luckily in The Hague and surrounding areas, there are plenty of opportunities to do so.

For example, art created by our secondary school students (aged 14-17) currently adorns the corridors of a local hospital: Antoniushove in Leidschenveen. It is such an honour and a privilege to be able to share our students’ work with hospital staff, visitors and patients in this special exhibition. The art itself is mix of different subjects, styles and media. The selection is loosely based on the concept that art can heal. Visitors have been impressed by the quality of the work and the skill and imagination of the young artists during opening night. And, we must admit, so are we! we are also, once again, taking part in the Feel at Home in The Hague International Community Fair. This established annual event is designed to welcome and connect the international community and showcase the city of The Hague, so everyone can feel at home. It’s a chance to find out about local employment and professional development opportunities and to participate in workshops and activities. Sports, social and community groups will be represented—The Hague is rich in culture and entertainment, and there are plenty of volunteer opportunities. Around 4000 people are expected to attend! If you are around on Sunday (2 February) why not sign up for this free event. We’ll see you there!
