We’re in the money!
Well, not us, but UCF sure is after yesterday. That and more in today’s Knightly Newsletter.

The Big News
MacKenzie Scott Donates $40 million to UCF
This isn’t a sports-related story, but philanthropist MacKenzie Scott, otherwise known as the ex-wife of Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, announced that she and her new boo are dropping a massive donation to UCF - the largest in the school’s history - $40 million.
The largest gift in UCF’s history will fuel social mobility, student success, academic excellence & faculty research for generations to come👏

Philanthropists @mackenziescott & Dan Jewett announced a $40 million investment to strengthen proven pathways to opportunity.
This should make her the second most-popular MacKenzie/McKenzie in UCF history.
I’d just like to point out that as great as this is for UCF - and it is GREAT - Vanderbilt got $45 million last year for just existing in the SEC.
Something to chew on.
Around the Kingdom
Rayniah Jones preps for Olympic Trials
📍still in oregon, got my first workout in for the trials!
Rayniah Jones continues to prepare for her first race of the U.S. Olympic Trials on Saturday in Oregon.
FUN FACT: Although Rayniah is currently the 17th-ranked 100-meter hurdler in the U.S, her personal best of 12.73 is actually the 6th-fastest time for any American woman this year. The fastest was 12.44 by LSU’s Tonea Marshall.

Tre’Quan Smith looks poised to assume deep threat role for the New Orleans Saints - Canal Street Chronicles
Our SB Nation comrades at Canal Street Chronicles covering the Saints have a very nice write-up on their expectations for UCF alum Tre'Quan Smith this coming season with Jameis Winston taking over at QB for the retired Drew Brees.
News and Notes
Former UCF Baseball pitcher Joe Sheridan, who was beloved when he played here, saw his college career come to an end at Notre Dame this week. His mom shared her thoughts on Twitter:
Sharon's Shots
The young man in the Notre Dame uniform was the man on the mound last night for the last time. The 4 year old in the Sand Gnats uniform is who this mom saw on the mound last night. What an amazing 19 years! #MomMemories
Congrats to Joe on a great career and all the best in the future!
Tweet of the Day
Happy birthday to The Godfather of UCF Football, Manny Messeguer!
On TV Tonight
No UCF-related events.
That’s all for today - Catch you tomorrow! #ChargeOn
