Track & Field Olympic Hopefuls Come Up a Tad Short
First, Anne-Marie Blaney competed in the U.S. Olympic Trials 10k but couldn’t make the team.
UCF Track & Field/XC
Anne-Marie Blaney finished 16th in the 10,000m run at the U.S. Olympic Team Trials in 32:49.26!
Her 32:49.26 landed her at 16th place.
Another distance runner, Charlotte Crook, aimed for a spot on the British Olympic Team in the 1500 meters but also couldn’t make it to the final:
UCF Track & Field/XC
.@CharlotteCrook2 ran 4:35.90 in her heat at the British Athletics Championships but was unable to advance to the final.

We’re proud of you, Charlotte! Can’t wait to have you back in action in the fall!
But the biggest bummer of all was Jasmine Scott-Kilgo, who won the Canadian Long Jump title over the weekend, but her mark of 19 feet, 2.75 inches (5.86 meters) did not meet the Olympic standard of 6.70 meters. So she’s the national champion, but won’t represent Canada at Tokyo.
Still, congrats to all the UCF athletes for giving their top efforts to represent their countries this summer!

Interesting: 2020-2021 was the fourth-winningest year for #UCF team sports since Softball started in 2002.

2019-2020 was the winningest.

Four of the five winningest years in that time frame have been since 2017.
