Big Revolution
Welcome to Thursday’s newsletter. You’ll notice there’s no ‘big thought’ today; that’s because in between all-day event MCing yesterday and today and family commitments I’ve run out of time to write one. Apologies! It’ll be back tomorrow.

Big things you need to know today
  • Facebook is to allow some blockchain-related ads back on its platform without pre-approval, TechCrunch reports. The company cut off such ads last year due to the number of ICO scams and other dodgy behaviour in the space.
  • YouTube Music and Google Play Music now have a combined total of 15m users, Bloomberg reports. It’s still a long way behind Spotify and Apple Music, but shows Google can get people to pay subscription fees for consumer services.
  • Bird is to offer its own scooter to the public to buy for $1,299. Selling directly to the public is another example of how Bird is probably the most interesting of the numerous US scooter hire companies.
One big read
Fortnite is free, but kids get bullied into spending money for skins Fortnite is free, but kids get bullied into spending money for skins
Just as kids can be bullied for wearing the cheapest school uniform options, so they’re bullied on Fortnite for not having spent money on costumes for their characters.
One big tweet
Some people are never happy…
Vlad Savov
People: The Pixel is too expensive and we want the headphone jack back.

Google: Okay, here's the 3A.

People (entitlement reaching critical levels): We also wanted higher specs with the lower price. Disappointed.
