Hi friends, here is your weekly dose of “Simply Good Life,” a newsletter that tries to make your day a little bit better and help you to grow personally and professionally. Enjoy!

Invest in Yourself
One advice I give to young people is to invest in themselves, to invest in becoming better with their soft skills. From my perspective, the most important, future proof soft skills are creativity, emotional intelligence, and communication. I just found an article with a quote from Warren Buffett - one of the wealthiest people in the world - about investing in communication skills.
“Invest in yourself. The one easy way to become worth 50 percent more than you are now — at least — is to hone your communication skills — both written and verbal. If you can’t communicate, it’s like winking at a girl in the dark — nothing happens. You can have all the brainpower in the world, but you have to be able to transmit it.”
Learn from this article the 6 most effective ways to improve your skills to communicate.
Creative Dance Performance
It’s the most impressive dance performance I’ve ever seen. It’s perfectly choreographed, it’s fun and creative. Enjoy!

Make Your Life Last Longer
Have you ever wondered where the last year of your life went? Do you sometimes have the feeling that you perceive time differently depending on what’s happening? Learn from this short video by the fantastic neuroscientist David Eagleman (the author of one of my favorite books SUM) how we perceive time and how to make your life last longer.

Design Your Life
“The most courageous decision that you can make each day is to be in a good mood.” — Voltaire
This quote is one that I now completely get. I now try to live an optimistic, positive life without complaining, without comparing myself with others and without negativity.
But I used to think optimists are just too blind to see how bad reality really is. Now I get the idea of optimism. It’s about designing our own life. Every second I spend on being negative I tell my brain that my life sucks. With every second spent in a positive, optimistic mood I tell my brain that my life is great. There have been barely any days I would call “bad days” since I actively decided to live a positive life.
Look around you, what is it that you’re happy about? Life is about these small things. Design them, see them.
I hope you have a fantastic day.
Adam
PS: Next Friday I’ll be writing about designing a perfect next year instead of having New Year’s resolutions. Any questions?
