Hi friends, here is your weekly dose of “Simply Good Life", a newsletter that tries to make your day a little bit better and help you to grow personally and professionally. Enjoy!

Business Travel Is Unnecessary
One thing I’ve learned from the outbreak of the Coronavirus is how unnecessary most business travel is. There’s very little that can’t be done over Skype or Zoom. Flying to another continent for a few hours is just crazy.
I run more and more of my workshops virtually. With some small tweaks they almost feel like face to face sessions:
  • I always ask everyone to turn on the camera
  • I begin the sessions with some fun elements
  • I limit the length of the virtual sessions to two hours
  • If you use Zoom you can even use it’s breakout room feature to distribute people into creative sub-teams.
These sessions are such a time, resource and money saver.
Happiness as You Get Older
“When young people say, ‘I feel happy,’ it tends to be followed with statements about accomplishments or activity. As you get older, the statements drift steadily towards feelings of contentment or connection.” – Ryan Holiday
Where are you on the happiness scale? What is it that makes you happy? Titles, achievements, material things or rather the human factors like being connected?
No judgment here. It’s simply good to understand what drives us and who we really are.
Speak with Confidence to Anyone!
You might think that speaking with confidence is only something you need to worry about if you give a lot of speeches. However, how you speak is also important in everyday life. It tells others that we believe in ourselves.
Learn from this article a ton of ways to become confident in your speech. Learn…
  • Why to pause before speaking
  • How to use silence
  • How to move the hands etc

Quote I Love
Last week I wrote about the fantastic book Awareness. I’m still fascinated by the ideas presented there by Anthony De Mello.
Here’s another highlight I found in this book.
Put this program into action, a thousand times: (a) identify the negative feelings in you; (b) understand that they are in you, not in the world, not in external reality; © do not see them as an essential part of “I”; these things come and go; (d) understand that when you change, everything changes.
So instead of identifying with your emotions by saying “I am sad”, “I am depressed” - rather describe emotions as things that come and go - “There’s now a feeling of sadness in me”, “I now feel depressed”. Do not label yourself with negative emotions. Don’t make your brain think these emotions are part of who you are.
Have a fantastic positive week
