I’m not travelling anymore but well, I just like the format of giving you my favorites. So here are the three books I’ve recommended most often all over the world. My absolute favorites, as many of you know :-) Enjoy!

Favorite Book 1
“The impediment to action advances action. What stands in the way becomes the way.” — Marcus Aurelius

We are often stuck, and frustrated. But it needn’t be this way. There is a formula for success that’s been followed by the icons of history—from John D. Rockefeller to Amelia Earhart to Steve Jobs—a formula that let them turn obstacles into opportunities. Faced with impossible situations, they found the astounding triumphs we all seek.
These men and women were not exceptionally brilliant, lucky, or gifted. Their success came from timeless philosophical principles laid down by a Roman emperor who struggled to articulate a method for excellence in any and all situations.
This book reveals that formula and shows us how we can turn our own obstacles into advantage.
Enjoy The Obstacle Is the Way by Ryan Holiday
Here are my favorite quotes from this great book that taught me to accept bad times and also to be prepared for them.
“There is no good or bad without us, there is only perception. There is the event itself and the story we tell ourselves about what it means.”
“Choose not to be harmed—and you won’t feel harmed. Don’t feel harmed—and you haven’t been.”
― Marcus Aurelius, The Obstacle Is the Way
Favorite Book 2
I guess I’ve recommended this book about 1000 times so far.
In “59 Seconds,” psychology professor Richard Wiseman presents a fresh approach that helps people achieve their goals in minutes, not months. From mood to memory, persuasion to procrastination, and resilience to relationships, Wiseman describes how these quick and quirky techniques can be incorporated into everyday life.
Think a little, change a lot.
Here are some of the small ideas:
“Discover why even thinking about going to the gym can help you keep in shape ”
“Learn how pot plants make you more creative ”
“Find out why putting a pencil between your teeth instantly makes you happier ”
“The results from both studies clearly indicated that in terms of short- and long-term happiness, buying experiences made people feel better than buying products.”
― Richard Wiseman, 59 Seconds
Favorite Book 3
Choose Yourself begins with the following lines:
“The world is changing. Markets have crashed. Jobs have disappeared. Industries have been disrupted and are being remade before our eyes. Everything we aspired to for “security,” everything we thought was “safe,” no longer is: College. Employment. Retirement. Government. It’s all crumbling down. In every part of society, the middlemen are being pushed out of the picture. No longer is someone coming to hire you, to invest in your company, to sign you, to pick you. It’s on you to make the most important decision in your life: Choose Yourself.”
This book will teach you to do just that. It illuminates your personal path to building a bright, new world out of the wreckage of the old.
And here’s one quote from Choose Yourself, you’ll love this book!
“No matter who you are, no matter what you do, no matter who your audience is: 30 percent will love it, 30 percent will hate it, and 30 percent won’t care. Stick with the people who love you and don’t spend a single second on the rest. Life will be better that way.”
― James Altucher, Choose Yourself
Quote I Love
I’m closing the best-of series with one of my favorite quotes:
“Happiness doesn’t just flow from success; it actually causes it.”
Richard Wiseman, 59 Seconds
I live by this quote!
