Software invention elevator pitch

One of the tips I tell in-house patent people is to have their inventors write an elevator pitch as part of their invention disclosure. Here’s a simple template:
This forces the inventor to distill the conceptual essence of the invention out of its actual realization.
I, the patent attorney, need this so that I can quickly get to the core of the matter and not get lost in the nitty-gritty details of the concrete realization (which I need, too, of course).
