Tim Wendelboe Transparency Report
🔦 Tim released his transparency report for the 15/16 financial year, with a few interesting tidbits. Primarily he’s stopped paying for quality, and instead, is paying for production costs specific to each farm/country. I like it. See his other reports and posts on the topic here.
Re:Co Dublin
💡 Re:Co Symposium director Matt Slater has been drumming up a formidable list of speakers for this year’s WBC-sidled event in Dublin. If you’ve never been to a WCE/SCAA event like this I strongly recommend it. Early bird pricing is only until May 15th, and the Fellowship Program has just been announced (are you a leader, driving the future of our industry? You might be eligible for free tickets!).
FB Group at 5K
🎉 The Barista Hustle Facebook group hit 5,000 members this week and is killing it. I’m finding it hard to think of another online coffee space that’s this useful/active (if there is one I want in). 
Well done team! Plenty of solid discourse. Here’s what you may have missed:

🙇 I *promise* you this isn’t what superautos are about. Watch the video and laugh. Then feel sad about the millions of people that will buy and enjoy this. 
How niche is niche?
✌ I watched this short profile on a professional finger skateboarder, and thought to myself “I wonder how many people see coffee videos and feel the same way?”. Probably a lot. Good food for thought!
Coffee in Croatia
🇭🇷 So, my parents are in Croatia for a few weeks and keen to grab a good coffee. Any readers with a hot tip? My mum can tell if a Barista competitor is going overtime before the clock hits 5:00 and Dad makes a better pour over than you do.
