Swift Heroes follow-up
An interesting week. Last Monday, in my episode, I discussed some an issue with the
Swift Heroes speaker line-up. Well I am very happy to report they have come through.
Take a look at
Swift Heroes. Perhaps we can meet in Turin in person?
In relation to
Swift Heroes I had some sad news this week.
Stefan, my colleague had to decline due to his knee injury. He just won’t be ready in time. Fortunately, after some internal discussion,
Amos stepped up and agreed to take Stefan’s spot on stage during the conference with me. Stefan has agreed to take part online at
Swift Heroes with Nash. Next to that my
Adam and
Martin will be attending the conference as well.
Vapor Swift
I’ve been playing around more and more with
Vapor Swift over the last couple weeks. In part thanks to some work I tasked a Vapor maintainer to do for Stream.
Also the
Swift Package Index is something I am looking into. What can I do to help them? The Swift Package Index is an awesome initiative. And the coolest part, it is an awesome codebase built on Vapor. I knew that before, but I kind of forgot that fact. Also the way it is setup with Docker is really nice. It brings me back to the days I was involved hands-on with a codebase including its backend. Maybe I should do more backend work. Vapor, Stream backend integration. That would be awesome right?
Anyways, next week I will likely have some more written content ready for publication. The presentation for Swift Heroes is also coming together, next week the focus will be on creating the bulk of the presentation slides with the help of Stefan and Amos.
See you next week,
Jeroen
