This week: Learn why you should want to go to our presentation on Swift Heroes.
Just 11 more days till Swift Heroes. Amos, Stefan and I were busy creating slides last week. We’re 60 slides in for a 40 minute presentation. Also requests for design assets have been put in. And this weekend I casually mentioned to my wife we were prepping our slides this week. She’s a primary school teacher. Let’s just say, that girl has an opinion on how to do a proper presentation. And have I been taking notes? Oh hell yes. I got an impromptu presentation on proper presentation techniques. I have a list of 5 things that will have a meaningful positive impact on our presentation at Swift Heroes. Lesson for you: If you know of a school teacher able to run a tight class? ASK THEM what they think is a good presentation. Because turns out, presenting is basically the bread and butter of school teachers.
Best tip she had for me was this one: Make sure you get across why people should listen to your presentation. Within the first 30 seconds of our presentation at Swift Heroes I will make sure to state.
Developing your secondary skills as a software developer is like getting super powers.
I hope you are interested in that presentation we’ve been working on. 😇
I really hope I have a big announcement to make next week. Fingers crossed. It all depends on an important budget allocation discussion on Monday.
So hopefully I can share some more on that soon.
I also published another article on the Stream blog. When I read it back this week, I was surprised. Did I write that? Goes to show how much good input from others and a good copy editor can do to content.
