November 18 · Issue #5 · View online

I am an editor, writer and creative strategist based in Amsterdam, curating the world's most sparkling trends in design, interiors and lifestyle. Angel Magazine is a personal newsletter, a diary of things that inspire me, and make my heart beat faster. //

Bienvenue à Angel Magazine numéro 5. It has been a sad few days in the world, with what happened in Paris. It’s been hard for me to find the right words and the right thoughts that could comfort me late at night, but I try. And of course, there is still light and love in the world, doses of happiness here and there, and the joie de vivre that will never be lost. Below are a few examples:

This is my spirit cat. Wild, free and brave. The past few days, I’ve been looking at this photo whenever I’m afraid - when my thoughts drift to concert halls, too real and too close to my heart - trying to be a bit more like this disheveled, gritty and resolute feline.
Just looking at that little face and expression, I become a little braver.

Projects: Happinez International (Issue #2)
I had the pleasure of working with the wonderful team of Happinez Magazine as their contributing sub-editor for the 2nd International issue. “The second issue of Happinez is all about finding your path to inner peace. It’s full of lessons for life, insights and wise words by inspiring people. ” Positive, wise and loving life is the motto of Happinez - I couldn’t agree more. :)

Fika in Amsterdam: The Hoxton
I have been spending a lot of time lately at The Hoxton, which almost feels like my second home. I sashay through the front halls as if it’s my own living room, I sometimes work at the mezzanine with its fantastic view of the Herengracht, and I often have meetings and fika at their amazing restaurant & cafe, Lotti’s.
Last week, I met up there with our dear friend Fredrik from Sweden / Singapore. He’s an international speaker on business creativity, author of the Idea Book, owner of Ideas Island, and one of my professional mentors. We had an ultra-inspiring chat about future plans and goals over (really good) ice tea. I was definitely super inspired! I mean just look at his sweater! :)
He wrote about the ideas-fuelled afternoon on his blog. Read it here:

Music: Le Guess Who? Festival in Utrecht
I’m really looking forward to this weekend - it’s time for Le Guess Who? once again! LGW is a music festival I’ve been going to yearly in Utrecht. It’s really one of the best music festivals in the world, highly applauded for their innovative line-up (the bands they select are often bound to be the next big names in the underground music scene) and of course, the fantastic location. Surrounded by canals, cosy houses, cafes… I always describe LGW to others as the “cosiest city music festival”. Plus, no camping and no rowdy crowds, yay! ;)
Letter to Van Gogh: Fear and bravery
“However meaningless and vain, however dead life appears to be, the man of faith, of energy, of warmth, and who knows something, doesn’t let himself be fobbed off like that,” you wrote. “He steps in and does something, and hangs on to that, in short, breaks, “violates.”

Always remember to live life.
