Mmm, coffee
By Andrew Meyers • Issue #90 • View online
My current non-fiction read is My Morning Routine: How Successful People Start Every Day Inspired, and today I came across this wonderfully affirming quote from Bob Moore, founder and president of Bob’s Red Mill:
When I walk in the door at work, I grab a cup of coffee. I love coffee. I can’t think of anything I like more than coffee.
You get me, Bob. You get me.

  1. This week Matt Birchler posted his annual watchOS concept. I still hope that someday he’ll have the opportunity to release this custom Apple Watch face.
  2. And speaking of Apple, Federico Viticci and the team over at MacStories have released this mega archive of Shortcuts (iOS).
  3. Interesting design stuff: what SNL cue cards can teach us about typography. (Fast Company)
  4. Locast is a non-profit that’s trying to crack the nut that streaming startup Aereo never could: consumer access to legal, free broadcast TV over the internet. (New York Times profile)
  5. Ember is now offering a 14-ounce version of their ceramic mug, one of my favorite gadgets of all time (because coffee). ($129)
  6. Did someone say high quality coffee-on-the-go? Well, Dripkit looks pretty darn cool. I need some of these for the campsite this summer.
  7. Fitbit just announced a bunch of new fitness trackers, including the Versa Lite smartwatch, Inspire & Inspire HR and Ace 2 (kids tracker).
  8. And if you’d like to take a healthy step back from all of these gadgets and technology, read this terrific piece by Make Time author John Zeratzky. (Side note: I deleted Facebook, Instagram and Twitter from my phone, and it’s actually going well.)
  9. I don’t have time read many email newsletters — especially daily ones — but it’s been like 8 months and Morning Brew still has my attention.
  10. I’m too sad to even watch it, but Jeopardy! host Alex Trebek took to Twitter this week to announce he’s battling pancreatic cancer. As a game show fan since my earliest years, I feel like this classy Canadian deserves so much better. We’re pulling for you, Alex. 🍁
