This week I started using Michael Hyatt’s Full Focus Planner, and while it’s early yet, I could see myself using this daily notebook for a long time (see my tweet thread about it). In the age of digital everything, there’s something grounding about making paper your home base. Of course I’m using the FFP alongside Things 3, my favorite digital task manager, and this “hybrid productivity method” is working for me.
Alright, gotta go check some things off my list! See you next week.

  1. Postseason baseball is here, and Game 5 of the Dodgers/Nationals series was a doozie, grand slam included.
  2. Switching gears, let’s keep it going with some iOS 13 Shortcuts content: Federico Viticci and the team over at MacStories offer a crazy big collection of workflows in their Shortcuts Archive.
  3. Shortcuts expert Matthew Cassinelli offers 150 shortcuts of his own.
  4. David Sparks — a.k.a. MacSparky — released his Shortcuts Field Guide for iOS 13. ($29)
  5. And over at The Sweet Setup, Shawn Blanc wrote up his iOS Shortcuts Ultimate Guide.
  6. Last week I watched the Jonathan Hoefler (typographer extraordinaire) episode of Abstract on Netflix, and it was just the best. (Featuring Decimal, Hoefler & Co.’s newest font.)
  7. Baron Fig wins with their 404 page. (h/t Cliff!)
  8. Disney+ arrives on November 12, and someone on Reddit put together this Google Doc showing all of the content that’ll be available at launch.
  9. The music geek in me loves this: the Friends theme song sung in a minor key. 🤯
  10. And to end on a serious note, something to think about: even the deadest places — in this case, the Dead Sea — can give way to new life.
