Vatsap? Problem with good mood, Whatsapp controversy and my dogs!

June 6 · Issue #19 · View online

I love dissecting how the world works. I share some of that through this newsletter.

I was reading Noise by Kahneman (and others) when I learnt something interesting about the negatives of a positive mood. I wrote about it. If you read my blog, you will also discover what the Footbridge problem is. It’s interesting.
By the way, talking about books, below is a great Twitter thread for folks who want to get a recommendation on what to read next.
David Perell
What’s a book you love so much that you’ll instantly be friends with anybody who loves it too?
Now that we are on Twitter threads, below is a good one explaining clearly why the ‘Whatsapp suing Indian Govt.’ thing matters.
Whatsapp Vs. the Indian Govt.
Nikhil Pahwa
So WhatsApp has sued the Indian government for imposing the IT Rules 2021. This is probably the most significant privacy case in India, ever since the Right to Privacy case.

Thread on what this is about:
Last year, I made a video answering - “are we over-concerned about this whole privacy thing”? It took me 2 to 3 weeks of reading on privacy rights to be able to create it; may be worth your time.
Privacy rights are over rated - or are they?
A new less-serious video is up too, on my Youtube. It’s a Vlog that I shot in November but finished editing only this week. Dona Paula (my pets) were tiny then. The Vlog documents their first time at a beach, and in a resort. It’s cute and it’s short.
Adopted dogs 1st time on beach + a pet-friendly Goa resort!
This is all that I have for you this week. I got my second jab yesterday (Covaxin). I hope you get yours soon too (if not already). See you when I see you. Stay safe and keep making this world a better place. That is all that matters.
