Hello there
It’s officially December, Christmas is around the corner and we’re almost at the end of 2017 and hasn’t it been crypto-manic these last few weeks. At the time of writing Bitcoin just topped £11,500 - who’d have thought (the wonderfully nicknamed “Tech Chuck Norris” John McAfee for one…)
In other news (is there any?) Google has revealed the top apps purchased in the UK and US this year, naming tutoring app Socratic its number one app of the year.
Elsewhere, the SMS text message turns 25 and scientists from Colombia University create a new ‘impossible to crack’ DNA-based security system.
Plus, Twitter is paralysed by Trump’s tweeting, Google faces mass legal action over accusations of data snooping and we look inside the world’s most Instagrammed hotel.
Full stories are below, where you will also find the topics press are looking for your comment and opinion on this week. Please get in touch if you’d like to respond to any of these requests.
Have a good week!
