As I sit sipping my café con leche, my mind is on the concept of mindfulness. It’s something that has been pushed hard during this time. Some of you are thinking “but haven’t I felt enough…how much more can I take” ?
If you are thinking f*ck mindfulness, let’s look at it another way. It doesn’t have to be about stopping, dropping, and meditating. I do recommend a little bit of that because it helps get in touch with your intuition.
Mindfulness can be about things that bring you peace such as cooking, baking, a nice long walk listening to your favorite songs, dancing around the house.. I think you get what I mean.
What things can you do this week that can bring you a dose of happiness? No matter how big or small, just do it. My dose of joy came from going to a cookie class with Iesha Williams, the creatrix of The Salty Heifer
. A little something for my senses, palate, and belly. Just like that. You too can make mindfulness simply.
It’s easy to find time and energy for mindfulness when you add your own personal touch to it. Above all else, be good to yourself.
