Quitting Jobs, Unity Data Trends, and Book News!
By Todd Mitchell • Issue #3 • View online
Happy Sunday, creators! It’s my pleasure to bring another week’s worth of news stories, updates, and events to keep an eye on. Game audio has been a big topic of interest in the community lately, so I was glad to get a tip about a cool free online event for folks interested in hearing from an expert in the musical composition field. The National published that story I mentioned in Issue #1, complete with my comments on Google bans. I also have book news! Let’s get to it.

Book Update!
I’m thrilled and relieved to report that the writing for my upcoming industry interview book is complete! If you haven’t heard me carry on about this project, I selected a set of interviews with noteworthy creators, transcribed every word, edited for length and clarity, incorporated updates from several of the subjects, and added in a never-before-released interview with a developer who has a truly incredible story.
I’m starting a new editing pass as I wait for info from two more interviewees. I also need to name the book, get a cover designed, format the text for Kindle, and get a profile established on Amazon. I don’t have a hard date in mind for publication, but this newsletter is the place to look for updates as we get closer to launch. Thanks a ton to everyone who has expressed interest in this project!
More soon!
I’m hard at work on news you can use. Check out what’s going on at, subscribe to GameDev Breakdown if you haven’t, and most importantly, reach out to chat! Always happy to hear what you’re interested in, what you’re working on, and what’s on your mind.
Thanks as always for the kind words and for being part of the community. See you around the web!
