A place of wonders and ponders, shower thoughts, quagmires of life, peculiar dreams and the occasional tempered thought about running a Design Studio.

Tl;dr - Smart homes are pretty damn nice! And easy to live in, but hairy to set up… Products I’ve installed in my home below.

We Moved(!)... Smart Home: Under Construction 🚧🤓
Yesterday Stef and I moved in to our new place – and it’s great – But you know what’s also great… A new home means new gadgets! Or at least just expanding ones setup in a way that works even better than before!
Gadgets, gadgets, gadgets...
Here’s some of the toys I’m fooling around with for my new home…
Hue Lights 💡(of course!): This I just an expansion since it’s a bigger home… I’ve also added 4 extra remote Dimmer switches that’s been places strategically throughout our home. Also planning to add Hue Spots in the kitchen, bathroom and a light out on the terrace… Imagine those party light possibilities! 🔮🎉
Nest Cam 🚨- A Surveillance solution for your home that has motion detection, phone alerts and records all events in the cloud for 10 days. And finally a powerfull speaker so I can mildly annoy the shady people about to break into my home.. Or just annoy my dog during the day. 🐶
Harmony Companion 🎛📺📽📻 - One remote to rule them all – by Logitech. I’m really really happy about this product, I can use this for my TV, receiver, Apple TV, Mac Mini, lights, and even with smart switches to turn on stuff like the Nespresso… #LazyGuy
If This Then That...
And then round it all up – IFTTT simply rocks for quirky tasks!
“A free platform that helps you do more with all your apps and devices”
This is the future - it just needs to be faster to execute rules when they are activated.. But for minor stuff like below I like IFTTT - A couple of the rules I’m using:

Till next time… 👋🏻
