AI Researcher & Entrepreneur

16 years old, Canadian, and striving to develop the future of technology.
With a passion for Artificial Intelligence and entrepreneurship, I am working to create solutions for some of the top hospitals in Canada such as:
  • developing artificially intelligent diagnostic systems,
  • a new method to track and assist patients and their caregivers and,
  • a system to collect metrics from stay-at-home patients.
Meanwhile, I have been conducting research at the University of Waterloo to further the AI community’s efforts in reaching human-level artificial intelligence and have developed a new Artificial Neural Network that is a more realistic abstraction of the human brain.
My goal? To spark the next wave of human innovation and help humanity along the road to a new evolutionary step.

Speaking at SXSW: Reforming Civilization with AI
Are we the only intelligent life in the universe?
This question has been asked since the beginning of human civilization. Yet, for the first time, it is evolving into a possible scenario:
What if we artificially created intelligent life?
At the South by Southwest festival in Austin, Texas, I spoke about my research developing a new AI algorithm that acts more like the human brain. I showcased how this research contributes to achieving Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) and what we must do to prepare for an intelligent future.
Most importantly, we have to ask the right questions: What changes will this transformation bring? When might we reach human-level AI, what will it look like, and what can we do to prepare? Will humans remain the only intelligent species?

Featured on Germany's Largest Television Network
While at the South by Southwest festival, I was interviewed by ARD; Germany’s largest television network with over 1 million daily viewers. I discussed the future of AI and the work we must do to ensure harmony between humans and AI.
One hypothesis is to ensure AI and human goal alignment through encoding human values into a machine. Yet, there exist two massive questions.
The technical question: how do we encode values into a machine? As well as the political question: as values change around the globe, which values do we choose to encode?
We cannot stop progress, we can only prepare for the future. It is our responsibility to ask these questions and hopefully find solutions.
