Platte River Power Authority plans to add another 250 megawatts of solar power to its electricity portfolio, and the power provider is seeking out projects that include battery storage and distributed energy systems. This addition, which could come online by 2025, would bring Platte River to 54% noncarbon electricity. It’s the biggest renewable addition that the power provider for Fort Collins, Loveland, Longmont and Estes Park has ever sought out.
