Stable Diffusion Is The Future of Art 🖼️

Pieter's Post
Hello… and welcome back to Pieter’s Post!

What I've found
I’ve talked about DALL-E before, an AI tool that can generate an image based on a text input you give. But now there is something called Stable Diffusion, an open source and publicly available version which is able to do the same. So you can now generate your own artwork, stock photos, icons, or whatever you can come up with.
This is a big blow for artists and designers. Sure, specialized work will always be there. But for something like album art, why pay someone hundreds of euros if you can generate it yourself for free in 5 min?
You can try it out for yourself here (make a free account) or here (you might need to wait a bit) or if you are tech savvy you can install it from the GitHub repo.
This of course creates the discussion, is art generated by AI art? And if you enter it in an art contest… did you cheat?
You can watch this video if you want to know how it works. But of course, magic doesn’t come for free, it’s very complicated.
If you need some help in getting started with selecting the right prompts you can use Lexica which has a big overview of prompts with the resulting images.
Exciting times ahead! But I’m also shocked at how fast technology improves.
Let's see some AI generated images!
