The Pegasus Report
Welcome to this weeks edition of the Pegasus Report. As to be expected in this current climate there isn’t much in the way of project news however there are lots of articles in this weeks ‘Industry Insights’ section focusing on the effects of Covid-19 on the construction industry. As we all settle into a new temporary way of life, I hope our report will be of some value.

News Roundup
Grim, but not unsurprising news that £26Bn worth of projects have already been delayed / temporally halted due to the Coronavirus; sadly I expect there is more to come.
In the North West, Manchester city planners have given the green light for a £100m-plus overhaul of the landmark CIS Tower.
In the North East, plans to build a hand sanitiser plant near Middlesbrough in 10 days have been unveiled. INEOS Group expects to produce one million bottles per month, meeting the needs of front line medical and care services, as well as making pocket bottle hand sanitisers for personal use.
In the South, plans for transforming a former factory site in East London into Dagenham Studios, a state-of-the-art facility for film and TV production, are back on track. Highways England has named the three consortia shortlisted for the £1.7bn upgrade of the A303 between Amesbury and Berwick Down. J Murphy and Sons is the sole UK contractor in the bid race for the massive A303 Stonehenge scheme.
In Scotland, a nuclear submarine testing facility adjacent to the Dounreay nuclear power complex is to be demolished after the Ministry of Defence invited firms to decontaminate and dismantle the facility.
In the Midlands, three West Midlands Councils have started the tender race for the next generation construction framework in the region. Eight firms will be fighting to retain their places on the four-year framework, which the councils said could deliver a project pipeline worth up to 2.1bn.
In South Yorkshire, despite turmoil in global markets, student accommodation specialist Future Generation has refinanced a £39m development loan that will help fund construction of the third phase of a major Sheffield scheme.
