PC Gaming Weekly
I’ve been waiting for this announcement for a long time: Microsoft is bringing Xbox Game Pass to the PC. It’ll come with over 100 games. This move reminds me, however, of another Microsoft product.
Minecraft. Wait, what? Yes, Minecraft.
Think about it: Minecraft is available on just about every gaming and computing platform out there. Heck, if Microsoft announces that Minecraft is coming to Samsung refrigerator screens, I’d believe it. The franchise is that ubiquitous.
And I think that’s Microsoft goal with Game Pass: Get it on every platform out there. We’re seeing Microsoft and Nintendo play footsie, with Cuphead coming to the Switch with Xbox Live integration (it already has it with Minecraft) and rumors that Game Pass may follow.
The next console war may have nothing to do with boxes – it may be Microsoft vs. Google Stadia to see who has the best subscription game service.
