A couple of weekends ago I was trying to calm my brain, relax and not think about work. But every time I tried to not think about work all I could do was think about work. I felt pangs of guilt and the need to pick up my phone, check slack, refresh my email and check in on things. It’s as if I needed permission to stop and take a break.
So I did what comes naturally to me; I wrote about it and gave myself permission to take a break.
