Articles, thoughts and insights from Nic Haralambous.
I have been building businesses for a long time. I started my first one when I was 16 and haven’t really stopped since then.
Over the last 19 years I have realised that bravado, ego and a lot of bullshit is at the forefront of many interpersonal engagements for entrepreneurs. We like to tell one another how well we’re doing - even if we’re not. We love to apply pressure to one another as a way to leverage power and feel better about ourselves.
What we hate to do is show vulnerability. Being vulnerable opens up a teeny, tiny gap for bad actors to rip us wide open. So we lie. Most wouldn’t call them lies but I do.
I thought about the lies that I tell and decided to write about six of them. Below are the six things that I don’t think entrepreneurs will ever admit to. Trust me, they apply to just about anyone, not only entrepreneurs.
BONUS - I’ve also thrown in one of my older articles about the phrase “It’s just business.”
