Instead of conventional presentations with slides, we’ll start the event with two semi-structured discussions (also known as fireside chats) with three special guests. Following this, we’ll have two practical workshops held in-person at UiO (also streamed to NTNU and online via Zoom) and in-person social events in Oslo and Trondheim.
Here’s the schedule for the day:
A fireside chat with UK Reproducibility Network co-leader Marcus Munafò
on the story behind the Network and what’s next.
A fireside chat with Priya Silverstein
and Lewend Mayiwar
on the opportunities and challenges for early career researchers implementing reproducible research practices.
12-13: Lunch break (catering provided at Trondheim)
13-14: Workshop 1 (in-person at UiO and online): Using Open Science Framework for reproducible research. This workshop led by Agata Bochynska and Timo Roettger will provide an introduction to Open Science Framework and how this free platform can be used to facilitate reproducible research.
Workshop 2 (in-person at UiO and online): Using synthetic datasets to facilitate the safe sharing of sensitive data. This workshop led by Daniel Quintana will show you how to create a synthetic dataset
, which is an artificial dataset that shares the same statistical characteristics as a real dataset (e.g., means, correlations) while maintaining participant privacy so that others can reproduce your analyses. A beginner level of R knowledge required to get the most out of this workshop.
16- Social events in Oslo and Trondheim (refreshments and dinner)
We can’t wait to see everyone in person and online for our first event!
