Three Peaks Challenge Completed

Guns and Roses managed to put on a great performance. We were very lucky, because Axl became positive with COVID the next day and had to cancel some of their tour. He put on a great show despite the fact his vocals are straining, but that’s unfortunately what…

Changes Are Happening! - Community Newsletter - Issue #23

I finished reading Atomic Habits, and it was a fantastic read with lots of golden nuggets. I especially love the 2-minute where you set a time (it doesn't have to be 2-minutes) and then start doing a specific task within that time. I chose to journal for 10-m…

Sometimes you need to move backward in order to move forward

This week I have been reading “The Obstacle is the way” by Ryan Holiday. His books have been recommended to me by the excellent Chris Do, with who I had the privilege of speaking. One chapter that spoke out to me “Use obstacles against themselves” because I h…

Weekly newsletter of 💻 Michael Brooks - Issue #7

In last week’s issue, I mentioned Twitter Spaces and how I’m trying to use it as much as possible to battle through my anxieties. Chris Do hosted his first Space, and I decided to join as a listener. He was a great host and had a lovely soothing voice which h…

Weekly newsletter of 💻 Michael Brooks - Issue #6

Twitter has released something called "Twitter Spaces", which is very similar to Clubhouse. However, in my opinion, it's much better than the Clubhouse app. I've been joining a lot of Spaces to listen to what others have to say. I have also entered to speak, …

Toxicity in the workplace

Recently, I joined a new company which I was super excited to be joining. The work is right up my street, and the people were initially really nice. However, a few meetings with my manager have made me feel uneasy, and it's causing big, flashing red lights. W…

💻 What's new this week (24th - 28th August)

Hi all, I’ve decided to change how I write my newsletters. Instead of copying/pasting Friday’s blog post into my newsletter, I decided it would be best to write more on my blog and share all of the updates here. This means I can post as frequently as I would …

How I got my blog to 3,893 views last month

Last week I checked my website's analytics and took a lot at how many views I had compared to the previous months. I was genuinely surprised that I managed to gain over 3,000 views, and the jump between the previous month was 1,600 difference.
