👋 friends. I hope you have had a lovely week!
Mine has been an absolute rollercoaster! From job interviews to technical tests. I’ve been through a lot, and I’m really hopeful that my job search is coming to an end. It can be exhausting and exciting each day. Hopefully, I will hear some great news very, very soon.

Learning about community building
I keep talking about Twitter Spaces, but I’ve been absolutely loving every Space I join. Down in the Latest blog posts, I even created a post on getting started. It’s been shared among a lot of Twitter Spaces, retweeted many times, and I can’t get over how much love it’s received.
Some of the discussions have been about building a personal brand and your own communities. If you’re looking to build a community, then you’re building a brand and vice versa. They both go hand in hand, but many people don’t even think about it in this way. To build a brand, you need to build a community and build on those bonds with your potential fans and customers.
There are also so many tools for creating your communities too. The obvious ones that spring to mind are Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. However, new platforms are popping up every day, and it’s up to you (if you’re looking to build a brand and community) to choose the correct platforms.
It’s best to stick with the social networks you enjoy and then branch out as you start getting comfortable. I have gone off Facebook and Instagram, and I no longer use either of them. It could be a potential loss on my behalf, but it’s a loss I’m willing to take right now.
My focus is on Twitter, my blog and this newsletter. Twitter has me really excited with Twitter Spaces, and I’ve discovered so many people I would have never discovered if it didn’t exist. The discussions have been genuinely life-changing, and it’s here to stay.
My blog has had its ups and downs, and I’ve had times where it’s received, zero love. I feel sorry for my blog because I never knew what I wanted it to be. However, I’ve come to the realisation that I can write whatever I want, and I shouldn’t be putting so much pressure on myself. Readers can find what they want to read because I cover so many topics that I find interesting.
If I focus on one thing for too long, my mind can become disinterested in the topic, and I’ll stop writing. When I write about many topics and give myself freedom, then I can actually write more frequently. Obviously, not everyone is the same, and you might want to niche down, but the thing is, you don’t have to. Just be yourself, and you can still grow a thriving community.
Then we have this newsletter. I feel like this is just another window to my readers, and I can grow closer relationships with everyone who subscribes. If you’re one of my email subscribers, then I feel like we have a very close relationship, and you’re my top fans.
Building a community isn’t always obvious, and it definitely isn’t easy. You have to find your little saplings and water them until they grow into full-grown trees. Some saplings will grow faster than others, and that’s okay. It all takes time, and we’re all at different stages in life. Keep growing your communities, nourish them and treat them with great care. You will make it, and you will do great things.
I think that’s all I have to say in this newsletter. I hope you’ve had a great week and a great month. It’s certainly been a rollercoaster. Stay safe, and stay well. Hopefully, I’ll see you at the same time next week!
