Culture of Basketball Round Up
May 2022 - Culture of Basketball Round Up - Issue #5
This past month had so much going on around the Culture of Basketball. With the WNBA, CEBL and NBA Playoffs in full swing, keeping track of it all is a 24/7 job. Some great things around the game happened in Toronto with Canada Basketball announcing details on The GLOBAL JAM (taking place in July), the Scarborough Shooting Stars starting their first season in the CEBL (with J. Cole making waves after joining their roster) and rumors of Toronto being a leading city in the upcoming WNBA expansion.
We also shared some events to check out (THE HUDDLE on June 9th put on by the Canadian Black Standard and the FUTURE IS NOW sneaker exhibit now on at the Bata Shoe Museum), some basketball movies coming out (HUSTLE on Netflix and RISE on Disney+) and some of our favourite podcasts.
