April 2022 - Culture of Basketball Round Up - Issue #4
It felt like April just flew by in a flash, but don’t worry, we’ll help you stay up to date with anything you missed in and around the Culture of Basketball! To start, you should definitely check out the Virtual Research to Practice: Movement as Essential Symposium May 5th at 10am. Our Director of Basketball Operations, Micaella Riche, will be presenting her insights about sport as an intervention for mental promotion in youth. Congrats to Canadian hooper Laeticia Amihere and South Carolina for taking home the women’s national college basketball championship against a tough UConn team. The Raptors showed what they are made of in an exciting playoff run against a tough Philly team. Scottie Barnes got the well-deserved nod for Rookie of the Year, and he definitely proved why during this series. Also, check out our very own Head Coach Deidre in a video with Nike Toronto on the importance of representation in Women’s Basketball. Take a scroll for our latest round up from the Lay-Up Team on all things related to the Culture of Basketball.
