Weekly newsletter of LFC Daytrippers Podcast - Issue #15
Welcome to issue 15… Another week of top content which you can find below, along with links to our sponsors and our website.

And through it all, when there was doubt…
Well, well, well… That was an exciting week for LFC fans. I wouldn’t usually be one for celebrating a 3rd place finish, but this season has been the exception to the rule. The achievement by Jurgen and the lads has been special, all things considered, and to finish 3rd is a fantastic end to a nightmare season. Just how bad have the Reds been? Top of the league table until Christmas, 18th in the form table from January 1st to February 28th, top of the form table from 1st of March to end of the season. Its clear where, what and when our troubles were, but to overcome it, has been a monumental effort from these boys. And so it was. Victories over West Brom and Burnley set up a final day game vs Crystal Palace to get the Reds back in the Champions league. A home game in front of 10000 fans should be comfortable enough, and in the end it proved so. 2 goals from Mane was enough to get the job done.
It also heralded the end of the Anfield Road for Gini Wijnaldum. A key player for Liverpool in the successful Klopp era, Gini leaves with a legacy of a man who gave his all for the club. As Jurgen said, our success was built on the legs and lungs of Gini, and he will be greatly missed. Wherever his next adventure lies, he leaves Liverpool a hero. Unless of course his next adventure lies with another premier league team…
This week also saw the announcement by the club and Spirit of Shankly about the establishment of a supporters trust to represent the fans at boardroom level, in a groundbreaking move. Gav spoke to S.O.S chairman Joe Blott just after the announcement to get some understanding of just what this move means for fans and FSG going forward.
This week also saw us launching our new charity initiative to get behind SIENNA’S STEPS. You can check out the links on our website to Siennas cause, as well as the show that Gav, Andy, Razor and Siennas mum Lesley done for all the info on this. Needless to say, we are going to do our best to help Sienna get to her target.
And with that, it was all over. Liverpool turned a nightmare into respectability. And we can look forward to next season…
We ate it up, and spit it out…
The record shows, we took the blows…
and did it our way…
