(name pending) Last week, we studied Social 101, focusing just on social media. This week, we’re going to zoom out and look at the best resources for general knowledge, online learning, and, yes, hostage negotiations. Want to know more? Khan Academy: Free Online Courses, Lessons, and Practice
The Pitch: Learn for free about math, art, computer programming, economics, physics, chemistry, biology, medicine, finance, history, and more. Khan Academy is a nonprofit with the mission of providing a free, world-class education for anyone, anywhere.
Best For: Beginners looking to learn the fundamentals or build foundations.
Recommended Class: Pixar in a Box, a behind-the-scenes look at how Pixar artists do their jobs. You will be able to animate bouncing balls, build a swarm of robots, and make virtual fireworks explode.
Cost: Free

Udemy: Learn Anything, On Your Schedule
The Pitch: Udemy is an online learning and teaching marketplace with over 130,000 courses and 35 million students. Learn programming, marketing, data science, and more.
Best For: Those looking to commit time (and money) to further their career
Recommended Class: How To Start A Podcast, whether you’re trying to build your personal brand, promote your existing business, or just want to get your thoughts out there. In this course, you’ll learn everything you need to know to create your very own podcast and record your first episode.
Cost: It ranges, depending on the course and its requirements. Budget from $20 - $200, depending on what you’re looking to learn.

Coursera: Build Skills with Online Courses from Top Institutions
The Pitch: Build skills with courses from top universities like Yale, Michigan, Stanford, and leading companies like Google and IBM. Advance your career with degrees, certificates, Specializations, & MOOCs in data science, computer science, business, and dozens of other topics.
Best For: CV builders and LinkedIn purists, who want traditional schooling programs (well, as traditional as this gets)
Recommended Class: Introduction to Marketing, taught by three of Wharton’s top faculty in the marketing department, consistently ranked as the #1 marketing department in the world.
Cost: Join for free, but classes and certifications have a price (depending on the program).

edX: Free Online Courses by Harvard, MIT, and more
The Pitch: Access 2,000 free online courses from 140 leading institutions worldwide. Gain new skills and earn a certificate of completion.
Best For: Those who weren’t able to commit to Coursera’s pricing (*raises a raccoon paw*)
Recommended Class: Becoming an Entrepreneur, from MIT, will provide you with inspiration to explore an entrepreneurial path and tools to overcome the initial challenges of building a business.
Cost: Free, but for some classes, you can add a verified certificate for an additional cost.

Masterclass: Our instructors are the best in the world
The Pitch: MasterClass is the streaming platform that makes it possible for anyone to watch or listen to hundreds of video lessons taught by 100+ of the world’s best.
Best For: Those who want to be taught by leaders in their field and people they recognize from TV, movies, and books
Recommended Class: The Art of Negotiation by FBI hostage negotiator, Chris Voss, teaches you stronger communication skills, game-changing insights into human nature, and more of what you want out of life. I assume he also mentions hostage negotiations as well.
Cost: $20/month (if billed annually), but currently there’s a BOGO deal on.
