Close Captioning is available when presenting
Close captioning is a great tool for inclusion and not just for those with auditory issues. Google Slides has a slick new addition that allows you to close caption your presentations. If you are a teacher that is blending your classes or has students using Google Slides as a presentation tool, the use of close captioning offers a few benefits.
If you have access to a computer, pair this ability with a screen capturing tool like Loom to create tutorials or instructions for activities. This will also allow your students to share their presentations with captions in Google Classroom, Google Sites, or whether you’d like. If you’d like an example, check this out.

The Southern Nevada Educational Leadership Symposium will be held at Spring Valley High School on January 26, 2019 from 8 am to 5pm. This conference is a great opportunity to expand your PLN as well as learn some great strategies for educational leadership. Register here.
Edtechteam is returning to Las Vegas as well. Focusing on technology (chromebooks, iPads, strategies), this conference will feature innovative teachers sharing best practices for tech integration. The two day conference begins on January 26th. You can register for the conference by clicking here.
