✈️ But not forever of course. For the first time since 2018 I’m heading off on a ‘proper’ family holiday and we’re lucky enough to be heading to Malta for a fortnight. I was toying with the idea of taking the laptop and doing bits and pieces but as I’m not running my own stuff anymore and have a fantastic team back at HQ, I’m going to genuinely attempt to switch off. I’ll be back on the 22nd August but in the meantime please check out the selection of podcasts on: Three day week for me, and them some sunshine. Have a good one and see you soon! *Last minute edit* Huge congrats to the Lionesses on beating Germany to win the Euros. As a dad to a girl who wants her to do whatever makes her happy, you’ve created an archive of footage and imagery that will last a lifetime. Now start tallying how many “What recruitment companies go learn from the Lionesses…” articles get produced this week. 🎵 Sweet Caroline. 🎵

Do you use these LinkedIn company page features?
Shame on me for not knowing about the free lead generation tool on LinkedIn. Not the most advanced feature and a little bit of manual activity will be needed but we have to use every tool at our disposal at the moment.

Keep your eye on these things.
Keeping it simple in this article with four metrics to focus on if you’re looking at the content you’re creating, historic content on your site and other bits.. Traditionally underperforming content also might earn higher traffic if it’s linked to relevant content and pages elsewhere on your site. This internal linking also can help the other pages where it’s included become more attractive to search engine rankings.

How to give feedback to designers.
I fully appreciate that many of you will feel like you do the design job yourselves, but if you do have to give feedback to somebody, this is a really succinct guide, from designers, on how to do it.

Time to get creative.
I think the recruitment marketing world is getting more creative to be fair to us, but the sounds from Cannes is that the B2B world can still do more with pushing the boundaries. Why don’t you give something different a go this week…? The overarching message is this: for B2B marketing to be more creative, it needs to be simple, it needs to be to the point, and above all it needs to be human, authentic and personal.

What do they think of us?
I’ve always said we assume too much about our audiences and sometimes live in a bit of ignorance. There’s no excuse anymore, with the tech available, to regularly get a feeling of how we’re all doing. This is a good starter pack of questions to focus things on.

What's the story, morning glory?
A dive into organisational storytelling here. Not only a practical guide as to what to do, but plenty of references and guidances if you need to manage upwards in terms of justifying spending your time on certain activities.

ABM is a marriage, not a fling
This is a bit of a pitch for an event that’s already happened but I couldn’t help smirk at the following line in this article… There are moments in life (and in marketing) when you only want a fling and that’s absolutely fine. But when you’re ready to take that big step into marriage, you will build a much deeper connection and find a long-term partner that wants to spend their time (and money) with you.

As ever, a really simple image shared by TLM guest, Adam Gordon.

Recruitment marketing and TikTok.
Webinar coming later in August that may be of interest. Whilst the organic reach available on the platform remains ridiculous, it’s worth finding out how it could work for you and your business.

Global Recruiter finalists. Nice one.
Well done to all TLM community members and everyone else for getting their names on the shortlist for the GRAs. Get to the evening, it’s usually a good one.

So, that’s it for a couple of weeks. If you want to find out what I get up to in Malta, then please feel free to join me over on Instagram. I’m also attempting to ramp up my training for the Big Half in September so will be getting some hot and sweaty runs in if you wanted to follow my progress on Strava. See ya.
