LinkedIn Creator tools.
If youāre one of those like me that switched over to LinkedIn creator mode, for absolutely no reason, then this may (or may not) be interesting. If youāve been focussing on activity on the platform the new insights around analytics may be something worth looking into. As an FYI, this is not live for me yet.

Which comes first: content skills or subject matter expertise?
An interesting question here (Donāt worry, I wonāt do a poll on it. Or maybe I willā¦). With content so high up on many of our agendas, what are we looking for in terms of a skillset? My opinion is that as we move to a more conversational world of copy, the latter is maybe more important. Thoughts?

You're so annoying.
If you donāt already follow Copyblogger and are into your aforementioned content then you should. This article from them dives into how you can stop annoying your audience with the words youāre scribbling/typing down.

Leaving it to the last minute.
As somebody who is guilty of this far too often than Iād like, itās nice to read about agile marketing and the concept of the ālast responsible momentā. Some people thrive under that last-minute pressure, others donāt, so if you have a framework as described here it could be useful.

What makes you different?
The single most simple question that is the most difficult to answer. And most of us need to as we attempt to attract new talent to our businesses. A short, sharp, to-the-point piece on employer branding from Shannon Smedstad.

The shift in analytics.
This popped up in the WhatsApp chat recently so I thought it was useful to get opinions around the impending sunsetting of UA and how weāll all need to pay attention to the shiny new GA4. Good news: custom reporting in GA4 is more powerful. Bad news: there are fewer standard reports in GA4, so you need to construct custom reports for a lot of common use cases. Worse news: custom reports can only go back a maximum of 14 months in the free version of GA4, so they quickly become useless for longer term trending and analysis.

Marketing and CX
Iāve been spending more time since switching back in-house, reading up on how to better link marketing and the candidate/client/customer experience. The opportunities to take control of the narrative really are endless. This article explains things pretty well.

Use it again and again.
Itās great to see some data and results behind the theory of repurposing and re-optimising content. Iāve said it before, weāre far too quick to produce content, whack it out, forget about it and move on to the next thing. letās make our content work harder for us.

What an insane week of weather here in the UK. A week after talking about the sun putting everyone in a good mood, the snow starts falling and whacks me with a stonking head cold. Hoping there is some sun in Valencia. Which is where I should be when this email hits your inbox. As a footnote, if you want to dive into why the āold jokes are the bestā then take a read of this. Have a good one.
