Hello! Faced with the prospect of another proper, full lockdown in Wales, I’ve embarked on/retreated into a nice little project where I watch allthemusicals and — because I am a massive nerd — record them in a spreadsheet. I have to amuse myself somehow!
In fact… I have the original Muppet Movie in the background while I write this :)
Swear to God I have been looking for a really simple and regularly-updated thing on cases in the UK and NEVER FOUND IT but here it is! (I will say that the info on Wales looks wrong—in Cardiff we can socialise outside in small groups; just not indoors)
My former colleague Ahmad made this addictive little game of ‘guess the local authority’. I am not really well-versed with all the names let alone what they look like, but this is a fun little game. (Note: It doesn’t end. Just stop when you feel like you’ve done enough!)
Cheerful: Researchers have estimated that poor air quality from this year’s wildfires will kill thousands of people, most of them elderly, in California alone.
The phrase “20-candidate special election” made me want to die a little, but this is an interesting read. There are also some other state-specific analyses of Senate races too.
I hope you don’t read Fair Warning to be cheered up, because this is just worrying: New analysis shows climate change will profoundly reshape the way people have lived in North America for centuries.
That’s everything I have for you. Thanks so much to everyone who donated to my Miles For Refugees challenge in the last edition! I’ve definitely been a lot lazier since completing..! If you enjoyed this issue, buy me a coffee here, and as a general reminder… Pay for your favourite newspaper! Reply to this email to say hi / tell me I’m missing your favourite musical. See you next week!
