You can say that the battle has started. Many companies are challenging to become the number one design tool. While Sketch is still the favorite for many, others are catching up quickly and they all bring something unique and powerful to the table. Be sure to keep an eye out on them! 
Framer released a big update with a lot of tweaks to their Design Mode. Figma released Library 1.0, a very neat way to create and maintain a design system. Compositor makes it possible to directly style React components with a visual editor. And of course, there were a bunch of exciting new Sketch plugins launched as well. Now we’re only still eagerly waiting on Libraries in the new Sketch 47! You just can’t start running behind…

Sketch Plugin Hackathon Update
We added 3 extra talks to the line-up. Expect lightning talks by SoundCloud, Atlassian and Brainly. They will show how they build Sketch plugins to improve workflows. These speakers complete our amazing line-up and I must say, I just can’t wait!

The lovely people from Framer updated their tool with an extensive set of styling capabilities. You can now take advantage of blending modes, blur, multiple shadows, and filters. Design + prototyping, combined in one powerful tool.

Components in Figma got a big update too! It’s now easier than ever to create, use and maintain design systems. After an extensive beta testing period of over 6 months, it’s now time for everyone to start using the new Team Library 1.0.

There are online tools that do this, but now it’s there where you need it the most. A Sketch plugin that extracts a color palette from any layer that contains bitmap data. It works for both images and layers with a Pattern fill. And it works awkwardly good!
