Hey there! 
This edition is a little different than you’re used to. Because we (re)launched a thing! ‘Design Tools Berlin’ becomes ’Design Tools Network’. 
What we set out to do mainly focussed on Berlin, is now future proof for events anywhere. For now there are no concrete announcements for that, but be on the lookout! 
What we can announce is our first meetup in Berlin! We’re very excited to host two talks from Alva and ResearchGate. Head over to meetup.com and RSVP!

The usual good stuff
Alva
Meet Alva — A radically new open source design tool built for cross-functional product teams. You can design with the same components your engineers are using for production. The Product Lead and a Designer of the team will tell you all about it at Design Tools Meetup #01!

Phase
Phase is also a completely new design tool. Currently in private beta, but looking very promising! It aims to do all the good stuff: connect with coded components, design system management and even prototyping. I’d be very tempted to try this one out.

An experimental hack for Sketch that might be interesting with regards to the above two mentioned tools. Go from a webpage to a Sketch document. Konrad Dzwinel demoed their HTML-SketchApp project during last years hackathon. If you didn’t check it yet, the recording is still available to watch here!

Sketch plugins of the month!
Get creative and use this plugin to create isometric views from Artboards and Layers in Sketch. Could be used for fancy skewed screens or Monument Valley like visuals. 👌

Add automated padding, spacing and alignment for your Sketch layers. A really neat way to quickly update the layout of certain elements.
