Brrr! It's a Chilly One - And There's More on the Way!

The Daily Distress
Good morning!
We hope that you’ve all managed to defrost since the most bank-holidayish Spring bank holiday in living memory. If polar exploration isn’t your bag, here’s our usual round-up of fun things to do indoors.

What's on the Telly?
Stir Crazy (1980) may not be the best of the Gene Wilder/Richard Pryor movies but they were such a great double act that that hardly matters. They raise an average comedy about two innocents abroad in jail to something far above the norm.
Sony Movies, tonight, 11:15.

We weren’t too optimistic about 2014’s Paddington but it turned out to be an absolute pleasure. Hugh Bonneville, it seems, was born to play Mr Brown and he’s part of a very strong cast in this cracking take on the old Michael Bond books about a Peruvian bear growing up in London.
We give this one five marmalade sandwiches. Film 4, Saturday, 12:55.

We loved the first episode of the new series of This Time, it’s absolutely prime Partridge. If you missed out, you can find it on iPlayer.

Better still, there’s a rumour doing the rounds that Joe Beasley and Cheeky Monkey will be appearing on episode 2.

Historical Moment of the Week
After a long, soggy tour of the country, asking the Great British people what they think, The Daily Distress was forced to agree with the government for the first time ever.
They really could be right when they tell us that we’re not remotely bothered.

Vic and Bob conjure up some magic in a David Copperfield meets Pan’s People kind of way.

You cannot listen to this without a smile on your face. Mahna Mahna!
Mahna Mahna from 1977. It's as old as Star Wars!

And now, the end is near ...
As we turn to face the final chorus of Mahna Mahna, we wish you a week bursting at the seams with joy and laughter. As ever, please send us your kitty pics and anything else that you think might keep us entertained.
We’ll see you again on Wednesday with another molehill of mirth.
In the meantime, don’t forget to play Where’s Moggy. Nobody has bothered to win yet.
