Botswana to Introduce 11 Local Languages in Schools by 2022

Botswana, which has been using only Setswana and English, as mediums of instruction, recognizes the importance of introducing local languages in schools for purposes of inclusivity and equity.

Language is such an important part of our relationships to each other as humans, as well as our relationships to ourselves. It’s hard to comprehend what we lose when we lose language, precisely because it becomes much more difficult to express.
