Your weekly newsletter on minorities in tech, venture and entrepreneurship 💫
Very excited this week to be joining the 10th cohort of Entrepreneur First, with the ambition to solve global issues with the next startup I build. I am also preparing for a talk I am delivering at the end of the month at Product Tank in London on Building Diverse Teams and Organisations.
I am in a bit of envy this week as I read up on First Round’s incredible Angel track programme in the US and would love to take part in some coaching and training like that in the UK. I have featured an article on it below.
👋 Hello there and welcome to another edition of my weekly newsletter!
Here is what people were talking about in the related to culture in tech last week:
The business world has long been a boys’ club. Women C.E.O.s and founders of color make up a small portion of entrepreneurs who have reached the top. Each one of the women in this group tableau has raised $1 million or more in outside capital, breaking barriers and shattering glass ceilings along the way.
More women than ever are finding work in the legal, medical, and technical fields. So why are women avoiding computer science? Check out this piece from WIRED on women and minorities in Tech, by the numbers.
